Where I belong
It almost feels as if I belong here. I started working for Nomeco more that 10 years ago as an office junior, and during my training period I spent time in a number of different departments. I was offered a position in the Range and Key Figures Department and I stayed there for a number of years. There came a point where it became necessary to expand the group, and I was given the task of hiring a Product Coordinator which was my first taste of management. Eventually I was given responsibility for the entire department and it was an exciting journey – not least for me. Since then I’ve managed the Returns Department and I’m now managing our VMI Department.
The end of the cycle
Managing the VMI department is a good opportunity for me to develop my career and learn new things; partly because VMI is an extremely exciting concept which I want to learn a lot more about and partly because I’m managing a group of highly specialised and highly trained people. It’s a privilege. I’m now also in much closer contact with the pharmacies who are Nomeco’s customers than I’ve been in any of my previous positions. I work with colleagues from right across the country and with companies who supply us, and thereby pharmacies nationwide, with branded goods. In a way that’s brought me to the end of the cycle: suppliers – internal customers – external customers.
New challenges
I’ve been with the company for a number of years now. That might seem a little strange, because it’s customary for people of my age to change jobs every other year. There is also a risk that you get a little to used to the place and ”get tired of it” and end up looking for new challenges in another company, however, because I’ve worked in so many different departments I’ve never felt that things have stood still. There’ve always been plenty of new challenges and I’ve always had the opportunity to try the things that have interested me. I think that’s true pretty much across the board at Nomeco. If you show interest and the will to learn new things then you get let loose on them. This is what makes Nomeco a place you want to stay at.
Seen the business grow
I’ve helped to start some of the things that Nomeco specialise in today and which have become an important part of our business. It’s been both an interesting and challenging journey and it’s been great watching the concepts grow. Generally, I take great interest in all our business areas which are in constant development. Nomeco is not the company it was ten years ago – far from it.
