Market Development Manager



In Market Development we sell and integrate solutions which facilitate the customers’ work and help them become more targeted. The solutions are developed in cooperation with the customers and are based on their needs. That way we ensure the products' uniqueness and relevance to the market. It is important always to develop solutions with an added value. Of course we must ensure competitive advantages for Nomeco but we do not fiddle. An extremely high level of ethics is one of the company’s strengths.

From square to polygon
When the customer asks us to identify a need, they bring us a square. But when we offer the solution, it has become a polygon. Underway a simple product develops into an advanced solution. Developing competencies in-house is one of the characteristics of Nomeco where other companies would use outsourcing. That makes work interesting and besides, we anchor knowledge in the company.

99 % of the time is spent on developing solutions
In the department I am managing, we have a goal of 99 to 1 regarding the relationship between development and operations. But it is also important for us to be at the front edge. When there are no immediate tasks at hand, we follow market trends and keep updated on legislation.

A work place with development potential
I have always been interested in logistics. After two years as a trainee at Nomeco I was employed in the operations department with optimization of warehouses and distribution.

I became interested in sales because we started developing external logistics optimizing the pharmacies’ inventories. The customer contacts were interesting because that is the source of many challenges. I moved to the sales department and started to deal with customers on Zealand, Bornholm and the Faroe Islands.

When a chance of moving on to Market Development Manager arose, I took up the challenge. That way I could maintain the contact to the customers while at the same time make use of my innovative talents to develop nationwide solutions.

We supply quality 365 days a year
The work intensity varies quite a lot, because we are a project oriented organization. You must be willing to really pitch into the job when the need arises. Because we are active 365 days a year, with solutions which have an impact on pharmaceutical distribution in the entire country. It is important to understand that we are dealing with vital goods. If the worst comes to the worst, a mistake may have consequences for the patient.

We are not only a company moving goods from a to b. We are focussing on the entire supply chain and we are a large company with a turnover of 7 billion DKK in our Pharmacy Division and 4 billion DKK in HealthCare Logistics. Our customers are thinking in milligram – the smallest thing is of importance and our solutions must work from day one for our customers. They are demanding but we require the same levels of ourselves. Quality is a must.

Social activities with colleagues
I like having social activities with my colleagues outside of work hours. That gives us a good team spirit. I participate in an annual event where we meet for a challenge day. We cannot meet without arranging a relay race or some other tournament. The DHL-relay is also a good initiative reflecting team spirit and that you are in favour of that type of activity. Many friendships are formed at Nomeco and I like that a lot.
